Shrimad Devendra Theertha Swamiji
Shrimad Devendra Theertha Swamiji who succeeded Shrimad Yadvendra Theertha Swamiji II has travelled widely from Kochi via Karnataka and Banaras.
The significance of this Shrimad Devendra Theertha Swamiji was that he was given Sanad (a letter of authority issued by the king wherein the person has the right of travelling with paraphernalia in a particular kingdom) by the keladi King Somashekara Nayaka.
As per the Sanad all the officers were instructed to ensure the safety of the Swamiji whenever he visited their kingdom with the paraphernalia. They also should see that they will not be obstructed anyone.
After initating Shrimad Devendra Theertha Swamiji has his Shishya both the Guru and the Shishya travelled widely. They also participated in the renovation of Tirumala Temple at Kochi.
Shrimad Devendra’s Vrindavan is in Kashi Math premises of Bantwal. The date of his demise is not known, however it is said that his end might have come between 1734 and 1775.
